 Projects

First: The Jordanian musical heritage survey project

The Jordan Academy of music, with the support of the Ministry of Culture, has launched in 2002 an exhaustive survey of the musical heritage of the complete area of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. For this purpose a large quantity of musical material varying in form and character, as well as in national, religious and social origin, has been collected and recorded onto 450 compact disks doubled by an equal number of cassettes and booklets with the transcription of the music and text of the recorded material.

 Secondly: The school curricula project

The Academy, in implementation of an agreement with the Ministry of Education, has composed the musical curricula for public schools from the sixth to the tenth elementary grades, accompanied by illustrative musical material recorded on tapes and compact disks. The curricula were highly praised and appreciated by the Ministry of Education that described them as comprehensively achieving the set cultural and educational objectives. For the School Curricula Project the Jordan Academy of Music was awarded El Hassan Bin Talal Award for Scientific Excellence.

Thirdly: The King Abdullah Fund for Development office

The academy has founded an office for The King Abdullah Fund for Development and has held several instructive courses for students aiming at preparing future graduates for the local and international labor markets.

 Fourthly: AWTAR

The Academy has founded a specialized musical journal (AWTAR) that will soon start coming out with the support of the Ministry of Culture.
