Bachelor Program
The Bachelor of Music (B.M.) degree program is the principle undergraduate program
at the Jordan Academy of Music. To complete the B.M. degree program of (133) credit
hours normally requires four academic years, each divided into two semesters and
an optional intensified summer semester. The minimum residency is two years for
qualified and approved transfer students from other universities. All requirements
for the degree must be completed within seven years of the student’s original enrollment
in the B.M. program.
All Students holding the General Secondary High School Certificate (Tawjihi) in
any stream, or its equivalent, are eligible for admission the B.M. degree program,
provided the applicant passes the aptitude test designed to evaluate the level of
his musical skills and abilities.

Major fields of the B.M. degree:
The Jordan Academy of Music offers a wide range of practical specializations in
both western and oriental music:
- Instrumental performance on the following instruments:
- Piano
- Orchestral String Instruments
- Wind Instruments
- Guitar
- Percussion
- Traditional Arabic Instruments including Oud, Nay and Qanoon
- Voice (Western/Arabic)
- Composition
- Musicology
- Music Education
In addition to the major program students are required to choose a minor instrument,
the piano being compulsory for students majoring in other fields.
Required Documents:
- An official transcript of the Secondary High School Certificate duly certified.
- Birth Certificate.
- Photocopy of the Passport or certified copy of the I.D. booklet issued by the Civil
Status Department or the I.D.
- Three passport-sized photographs.
- Behavior recommendation letter.
- Health certificate duly certified.
- Certified copy of the residency, for non-Jordanians.
