About Us
The Jordan Academy of Music was established in 1989 as the first accredited private
university granting a Bachelor of Music (B.M.) degree. It was founded on the initiative
of a group of private Jordanian citizens with genuine cultural and artistic interests,
who believe in the importance of participating in the process of building, developing
and enriching Jordanian cultural life.
Our Vision is to create together with our teachers, students and alumni a body of
innovative and creative musicians who will be able to freely explore what is common
between different musical cultures and to take part in an equal dialogue with these
cultures preserving their Jordanian Arab cultural identity.
The goals of our Academy in accordance with the directives of His Majesty the King
are:
- To offer an excellent music education through providing a learning environment that
encourages and nurtures talent, creativity and appreciation of music in our students
regardless of their initial stage of preparedness.
- To spread and promote awareness of the importance of music for our nation's culture
by advocating professionalism and academism.
- To cultivate and support the national music culture of Jordan, integrating it into
universal cultural processes and enhancing the role of music in mutual understanding
and communication between nations and cultures.
- To meet the country's increasing demand for both professional performers and specially
educated music teachers.
Our Academy has a highly qualified, professional and long experienced faculty for
both practical and theoretical courses, as well as a helpful and innovative administrative
staff, all working together to support and further the musical and artistic development
of our students.
